June 18th, 2015
On June 16th, the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) communicated to families that, as a result of Elementary Teachers’ Federation Ontario (ETFO) strike action, the WRDSB would be unable to provide report cards to students. Teachers have submitted marks to school principals in a variety of paper formats. As such, we notified families that they would receive letters of placement for the 2015-16 school year.
Following this announcement, we have continued to listen to the input and feedback from our community and their request for marks. A decision was made Wednesday evening by trustees and senior staff to provide a mark summary for students. Where teachers submitted suitable information, we will generate a mark summary for families and students. We will make every effort to produce these summaries by August 31, 2015. Further information regarding distribution will be made available at a later date.
The placement letter will be the official document for the Ontario Student Record as previously communicated.
The WRDSB is committed to your child’s achievement and well-being and we appreciate your patience as we continue to work together.
